Our story
About níkxnaʔ cannabis
níkxnaʔ cannabis is owned by the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and operated by Colville Retail Marijuana Sales, LLC, a wholly owned tribal enterprise.
About our Tribe
The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation is located in north-central Washington, near the Canadian border. The reservation is bounded by the Columbia River to the east and south and by National Forest lands to the north, and many tribal members also live in the surrounding communities.
The reservation spans Okanogan, Ferry and Grant counties and is organized into four political districts: Nespelem, Keller, Inchelium, and East Omak. The nearest cities, Spokane and Wenatchee, are more than 100 miles away.
Our traditional territories cover roughly 39 million acres across eastern Washington and parts of British Columbia, Oregon and Idaho, the homeland of twelve bands:
- Lakes
- Colville
- Okanogan
- Moses-Columbia
- Wenatchi
- Entiat
- Chelan
- Methow
- Nespelem
- Sanpoil
- Chief Joseph Band of Nez Perce
- Palus
The Tribe's mission is to preserve our land and traditions while advancing self-sufficiency and sovereignty, putting our resources to work for the reservation and its people. The Tribes are governed by the Colville Business Council, which oversees an administration of 800 to 1,200 permanent, part-time and seasonal employees.
Our cannabis enterprise
Colville Retail Marijuana Sales, LLC (CRMS) was formed in 2019 to oversee the cannabis industry on behalf of the Tribes. CRMS operates under a compact with the State of Washington, made possible by House Bill 2000 (2015) and the Centennial Accord of 1989.
The Tribes and the State share these goals:
- Protecting public health and safety
- A well-regulated cannabis market
- Economic development in Indian Country
- Fiscal benefits for both the Tribes and the State
Our first retail store opened in East Omak on Highway 97. Stop by and say hello.
